• Chili Bake-Off Huge Success. The BLIA's 1st annual Chili Bake-offwas a huge success. As part of The 2009 Frost Festival, 7 contestants volunteered their time and effort to compete with their best chili. Approximatlely 100 chili testers young and old tried samples from each crockpot.60 ballots were cast.The winner of the $50 gift certificate to T-Bones Restaraunt in Derry, was Sheila Allicon of Derry with the favorite chili. The BLIA also sponsored an ice fishing demonsration by Ed Riemitis out on the lake. $180 was raised and donated to The Sonshine Soup Kitchen. Special thanks to the Town of Derry for allowing us to use Gallien's Beach, BLIA volunteers, and contestants who made this day so much fun..
